Syria,Morocco agree on establishing diplomatic relations and opening embassies

Baghdad, SANA- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad al-Shaibani, met his Moroccan Counterpart, Nasser Bourita in Baghdad.

A meeting was held on the sidelines of the 34th Arab League Summit held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.

The two sides agreed to establish bilateral diplomatic relations between the Syrian Arab Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco, within the framework of mutual respect and shared brotherhood.

The Kingdom of Morocco expressed its intention to open its embassy in Damascus, a step welcomed by the Syrian Arab Republic.

For its part, Syria will initiate the procedures to reopen its embassy in Rabat, affirming its commitment to strengthening relations and cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
