Al-Shaar presents Syria’s 2035 Vision at the FFD4 Conference in Spain

Madrid, SANA-Syrian Minister of Industry and Economy, Dr. Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar, participated in the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) held in Sevilla, Spain.

During his speech, the minister reviewed Syria’s 2035 Vision for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development.

According to the ministry’s Telegram channel, al-Shaar stressed that Syria is working to create an attractive investment environment by developing economic legislation, stimulating productive sectors, and strengthening partnerships with the local and international private sector.

He also underlined the need to reform the international financial system to make it more just and inclusive, taking into account the challenges facing countries emerging from crises.

On the sidelines of the conference, minister al-Shaar held bilateral meetings with representatives of international financial and development institutions, during which they discussed opportunities for cooperation in the fields of energy, agriculture, infrastructure, and manufacturing.

The Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4) provides a unique opportunity to reform financing at all levels, including to support reform of the international financial architecture and addressing financing challenges preventing the urgently needed investment push for the SDGs.
