New aid plane arrives at Qamishli Airport

Hasaka, SANA – The 16th plane of the humanitarian air bridge arrived Wednesday to the Qamishli Airport in Hasaka province, provided by the World Food Program (WFP).

Director of the WFP office in Qamishli Afraa Noah told SANA reporter that the plane carries 9,000 food baskets and 3,000 food packages for emergency situations.

Noah added that the distribution of the aid started today and will last until 10 of August, highlighting that 750 food baskets will be provided to the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) in Hasaka, 500 to Hasaka countryside, and 750 to Ras al-Ein city, in addition to distributing aid to civil societies and the cities of Qamishli and al-Yaroubyeh.

Noah revealed that 6,000 more food baskets and 3,000 food packages for emergency situations will be sent via future airlifts.
