Damascus, SANA- Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh discussed with a delegation from the European Union Mission in Damascus the challenges hindering the return of Syrian refugees, the spread of mines, and the lack of infrastructure and basic services in affected areas.
“The meeting constituted a constructive opportunity to review the Ministry’s priorities in supporting the safe return of refugees, and to renew its commitment to developing a comprehensive national plan for mine clearance in cooperation with active partners, while seeking to take effective steps to prepare a database of affected areas, reconstruction priorities, and strengthening institutional communication with the European Union to coordinate support,” Minister Al-Saleh tweeted on the X platform on Thursday evening.
Al-Saleh expressed his appreciation to the European Union for its continued interest in the humanitarian file in Syria, and its continued support for its efforts to protect lives and restore the dignity of communities.
