Ankara, SANA- Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz has welcomed the lifting of sanctions imposed on Syria by the United States and the European Union.
In a post on his (X) account, as reported by the Turkish Anadolu Agency, Yılmaz stated that “the decisions taken by the United States and the European Union to lift sanctions on Syria are very positive steps.”
Yılmaz considered that the continuation of these sanctions, previously imposed on the former authoritarian regime, would turn into a punishment for the innocent Syrian people and an obstacle to Syria’s reconstruction process.
He affirmed Turkey’s continued support for the stability and prosperity of the Syrian people.
