Damascus, SANA-The General Electricity Administration held a meeting with representatives of Turkey “Levant Elektrik Ticaret Anonim Şirketi” company to discuss the 400 kV international electricity transmission project between Syria and Turkey.
The project aims to enhance power grid stability, expand cross-border electricity exchange, develop regional interconnection projects with neighboring countries and strengthen energy cooperation in the region.
The World Bank has approved a $ 146 million grant to Syria to rehabilitate power transmission lines, marking the Bank’s first project in the country in nearly four decades.
