Volunteer campaign rehabilitates 7 schools, distributes 16,000 school bags

Damascus, SANA – “I Have the Right to Learn”, a volunteer campaign launched last year, has accomplished repair and rehabilitation works of 7 schools that had sustained damage due to the acts of terrorism ravaging the country.

The rehabilitated schools included Qudssaia school in Qudssaia suburb in Damascus Countryside, al-Kahf school in al-Muhajereen neighborhood in
Damascus, Fawzi al-Jesri school in Aleppo, Hamzeh al-Saqr and al-Shuhadaa schools in Lattakia and Rawdet al-Karak school in Daraa.

Around 16,000 school bags, along with class requirements, have also been distributed to needy children in Lattakia, Tartous, Damascus and its countryside.

The campaign’s director Majd Wahba told SANA that the campaign aims at supporting education and ensuring that all children, including the needy
and those who were displaced due to terrorist acts, get enrolled in school, in addition to reducing burdens on their families through providing the school requirements.

The campaign continues for the second year in a row. It works, in cooperation with the Syria Trust for Development, civil associations and volunteers, on rehabilitating 52 schools in 10 provinces, in addition to securing scholarships
for relatives of the martyrs who are in the undergraduate stage.
