Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Arab Army reaffirmed its commitment to protect citizens and to resolutely confront Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in the southern region in cooperation with the honest citizens of the area, a military source said on Monday.

The source said that Jabhat al-Nusra continues to commit crimes, terrorize citizens, and target the positions of the Syrian Arab Army in the southern region, in addition to increasing tension in that region to prevent the completion of local reconciliation with the rest of the armed groups that are ready to hand over their weapons and settle their legal status.

The source affirmed that the fate of Jabhat al-Nusra in the south of Syria will be the same as the fate that befell other terrorist organizations in the areas that have been completely cleansed of terrorism and its supporters.
