Ain Al-Lawza node in Hama turns into modern traffic model matched by international systems

Hama, SANA- Hama City Council oversaw the completion process of traffic node Ain Al-Lawza and transformed it from a traditional roundabout to a smart intersection, which is the first of its kind in Syria, equipped with the latest technological systems.

“The idea started from removing the old roundabout, which was a cause of congestion towards the center of Hama city, and replacing it with a smart intersection on the modern model.” The director of services and maintenance at the city council, Moayed Mansour, told SANA .

Mansour explained that the intersection will contribute to achieving three main objectives: reducing traffic accidents, improving energy efficiency by relying on green technologies, and keeping up with international standards in managing traffic nodes, especially as traffic density in Hama has increased by more than 40 percent in recent years

Ain Al-Lawza project is not only a traffic improvement, but also a step shows that Syria is entering the “era of smart roads”, which reflects the government’s approach to adopt sustainable solutions to transportation crises
