Proposals and visions for Syria reconstruction at the First Youth Conference in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor, SANA-With the participation of more than 100 Syrian youth, the first youth conference in Deir Ezzor province was held Saturday in the Sahara Complex in Deir Ezzor, under the title “Youth: Rise and Construction.”

In his opening remarks at the conference, organized by the Directorate of Political Affairs in the province, Deir Ezzor governor Ghassan Sayyed Ahmad stressed the importance of the conference in listening to the proposals and issues of Syrian youth and benefiting from their capabilities. He noted that many countries that have suffered from war have relied on youth as a pillar of their reconstruction.

The governor praised the role of Syria’s youth, who have succeeded and achieved great things in the fields of science and culture over the past years, both inside and outside Syria.

He pointed out that this generation, which participated in the revolution and achieved victory, is today the generation responsible for rebuilding their country after its liberation from the former regime.

For his part, Director of Political Affairs Ahmad al-Hajr said to a SANA reporter that the conference is an important milestone, to be followed by a series of meetings aimed at motivating youth and involving them in decision-making and the recovery and reconstruction process in the new Syria.

Al-Hajr added that the conference included workshops on several social, political, economic, and skills-related topics, with each workshop featuring a number of young people according to their specializations.

The proposals and visions presented by the participating youth during the conference focused on ways to rebuild Syria after decades of injustice, oppression, and the crimes of the former regime, as well as the destruction and corruption it left behind.
