Mecca, SANA- Director General of Hajj and Umrah, Muhammad Nour Araj said Thursday that that about 14,000 Syrian pilgrims have arrived in Mecca to date.
Araj told SANA that the arrival of pilgrims will continue until June 2nd, and the number of Syrian pilgrims this year has reached to 22,500.
He added “We, this year, were keen to raise the efficiency of organizational, medical and administrative services. and we boost communication with the carrier companies in Saudi Arabia, to ensure providing the best care to pilgrims.”
The Director also noted that digital monitoring mechanisms for pilgrims have been developed through their personal ID cards, as we have divided the work into four main missions: administrative, religious, health, and media, whose main mission is to serve pilgrims.
Muhammad Nour Araj went on Saying that our message to pilgrims: “Hajj is a trust, so be keen on having noble intentions, good behavior, and adhering to the legal and organizational instructions”.
He noted to independent committees that follow up registration and selection processes, in addition to providing a direct communication with pilgrims to submit complaints”.
Hajj Director also said “We are working to develop an integrated electronic portal that covers all stages of Hajj, from registration to return, as we also are working to distribute Syria’s quota of pilgrims, granted by Saudi Arabia Kingdom, fairly and transparently.”
