Syrians in Paris elect their community’s board of directors ahead of Community Council formation in France

Paris, SANA-In a democratic and interactive atmosphere, Syrians in Paris elected their community board, coinciding with similar elections held in other French cities. This initiative aims to ensure local representation for Syrian communities and amplify their voices on a national level.

Members of the Syrian community in Paris participated in the voting process, which featured a competitive race among candidates from diverse professional and social backgrounds—reflecting the rich tapestry of Syrian society in the diaspora.

The newly elected local councils across France are scheduled to convene on June 15 for a unified meeting to elect the Syrian Community Council in France, which will serve as the official representative body for Syrians residing in the country. The council is expected to play a pivotal role in coordinating community efforts, advocating for the rights of Syrian expatriates, and strengthening their presence in French civil society.

This initiative marks a significant step in organizing Syrian community affairs in France and institutionalizing their relationship with their surroundings—both at local and national levels.
