Geneva, SANA- International Organization for Migration (IOM) called for the mobilizing international support to help Syria recover, the return of Syrians to their country, and chart a better future for Syria and its people.
“Syrians are resilient and innovative, but they need significant assistance to rebuild their society and their lives,” IOM Director General Amy Pope was quoted as saying by the United Nations News Center.
Bob highlighted that IOM has reactivated its data collection capabilities in Syria, and the “Return Communities Index” report is the latest contribution that will guide “the evidence-based humanitarian, recovery-oriented, and other work to build a better future for Syria and its people.”
This report assessed conditions in 1,100 communities and neighborhoods between March and April, where nearly 1.87 million Syrians, both internally displaced persons and refugees, have already returned.
