Washington, SANA- U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat, has urged her country’s administration to prioritize Syria’s stability, emphasizing that the sanctions imposed on it are negatively impacting its healthcare sector.
In a post on (X) platform, Warren stated: “Syria’s stability, as well as the region’s, should be a priority for our nation. However, our outdated and sweeping sanctions are affecting its healthcare system.”
She noted that she is leading a bipartisan campaign alongside Republican Senator Joe Wilson to push the administration into action.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the United States intends to ease sanctions on Syria, allowing the country to make a fresh start.
