Syria, Belarus to enhance cooperation in the agriculture field

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohammad Hassan Qatna, discussed with Ambassador of Belarus to Syria Yuri Sluka and an accompanying delegation means of boosting cooperation in the agriculture field.

During the meeting held on Tuesday at the Agriculture Ministry in Damascus, Minister Qatna highlighted several topics, among of which exchanging products that meet the needs of both countries and cooperating to secure quantities of nitrogenous fertilizers, prior to implementing October agricultural plan, in addition to securing tractors, combine harvesters, and quantities of maize and soya beans.

Furthermore, the Minister underlined the most important Syrian product; phosphate to be exchanged with those of Belarus, and he also referred to benefiting from the Belarusian experience in bumblebee domestication.

Minister Qatna voiced his appreciation to the Belarusian side for the invitation to attend Belagro Minsk 2023 due to its importance in viewing all forms of Belarusian agricultural products.

The Belarusian Ambassador, for his part, affirmed his country’s keenness to provide all means necessary to promote the bilateral ties in the common interest, pointing to the development of the Belarusian agricultural industries, especially with regard to fertilizers and agricultural machinery.
