Iran: Unilateral coercive measures impede achievement of sustainable development

New York, SANA- Iran’s permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Amir Saeed Irwani, affirmed that the unilateral coercive measures against Iran has impeded the achievement of sustainable development goals, particularly the access to clean healthy water.

IRNA news agency quoted Irwani as saying at the UN Water conference that those unjust measures contradict with human rights, especially the right of development, health and access to environmentally oriented techniques, warning that the world is passing through a critical juncture and many countries are on the brink of a water crisis that will soon appear.

The Iranian diplomat called for supporting multiplicity and strengthening regional and international cooperation to achieve common goals in the field of water.
