Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister expresses pride in relations with Syria

Havana, SANA- Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Elio Rodríguez Perdomo has expressed his country’s pride in the distinguished relations it has with Syria, pointing out that the two countries share a bright history of joint struggle against imperialism and defense of the values of equality and justice.

Perdomo’s remarks came while receiving a copy of Dr. Ghassan Obaid’s credentials as Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Syria to Cuba.

Perdomo wished Ambassador Obaid success in performing his duties, expressing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ readiness to provide the necessary facilitations and support he needs in performing his duties.

For his part, Ambassador Obaid expressed his high appreciation for Cuba’s stances in support of Syria, especially at the international forums and organizations, reiterating Syria’s standing by Cuba in the face of the unjust American blockade.

The two sides affirmed the strength of the friendly relations binding the two countries, and their keenness to develop these bilateral relations in all fields.
