Syrian Olympic football team wins 6-1 against Singaporean counterpart in friendly match

Singapore, SANA – The Syrian Olympic football team met its Singaporean counterpart in a friendly match on Wednesday in Singapore as part of their preparations for AFC U-23 Asian Cup, with the Syrian team winning 6-1.

The Syrian team dominated the playing field throughout the two halves, with Hayel al-Badri scoring the first goal at the 5 minutes mark, followed by goals by Mohammad al-Baher at 24 minutes, Abdelmanan Ibrhaim at 35 and 61 minutes, and Adnan al-Taqi at 40 and 75 minutes, while Singapore’s Tajeli Salamat scored his team only goal at 85 minutes.

The two teams will meet in another friendly match on February 21, and afterwards the Syrian team will return to Damascus for a training camp and then will depart to another camp in Kuwait on March 14 and a friendly match with the Kuwaiti team.

Following that, the Syrian team will head to Bangladesh which will be hosting the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, where it will compete in Group 5 which includes Uzbekistan, India, and Bangladesh.
