Damascus, SANA –
Governor of the Central Bank of Syria, Dr. Adib Mayaleh, stressed that a state of contentment is prevailing over the Syrian pound exchange rate as it reached 164 – 166 per USD.
During a qualitative session for intervention in the exchange market in presence of representatives of licensed exchange establishments, Mayaleh pointed out that the improvement witnessed on the exchange rate during the current week is due to several elements, including the state of security and opening roads inside Damascus and announcing the rehabilitation of the industrial city of Sheikh Najjar in Aleppo.
Mayaleh reiterated commitment of the Central Bank of Syria to continue funding all imports requests.
