Foreign Ministry calls on ambassadors and heads of missions not to visit the site of the terrorist bombing without prior approval

Damascus, SANA- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates called on ambassadors and heads of diplomatic and consular missions accredited to Syria not to visit the site of the terrorist bombing in Duwaila without its coordination and prior approval.

The ministry said in a statement SANA received a copy of on Sunday: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates sends its best regards to all diplomatic missions accredited in Damascus, and would like to inform them that no visits are allowed to the site of the terrorist bombing that took place in Duwaila – St. Elias Church, without prior coordination and official approval from the ministry.”

The ministry stated that “this measure is taken to ensure the safety of diplomats and prevent any breach of the security measures in place at the site of the incident, which is still being processed and investigated by the competent authorities”.

The ministry expressed its hope that “all missions will fully abide by this”, stressing its “readiness to co-operate and coordinate in accordance with the diplomatic principles”.
