Damascus, SANA-The 18th International Medical Exhibition “Medical Care Exhibition” kicked off ,on Wednesday, at the Damascus Fairgrounds.
85 local medical equipment and pharmaceutical companies, and 51 companies representing 170 foreign agencies from 29 Arab and foreign countries, are participating.
The exhibition, which runs until June 21, aims to stimulate investments, encourage the Syrian medical and pharmaceutical industries, provide job opportunities, and provide the health sector with the latest medical, pharmaceutical, and laboratory technologies. It also aims to keep pace with rapid developments in providing the best healthcare services to Syrian citizens.
Deputy Minister of Health for Pharmaceutical Affairs, Dr. Abdo Mahli, said to a SANA reporter that the exhibition comes within the framework of the leadership’s vision to open Syria to foreign countries, open the door to investment, increase economic activity for exports, and stimulate investment in Syria.
Dr. Mahli underlined that the Ministry of Health encourages all companies to return and invest in Syria, especially those that have suffered during the past 14 years.
According to Dr. Mahli, the Ministry is working to train medical personnel and increase the number of scientifically qualified personnel and human resources, to expedite drug registration and the import of quality medicines through cooperation with international organizations such as the World Health Organization.
Ayman al-Shamaa, the General Manager of the organizing company, said that this exhibition is an exceptional event that brings together the latest medical and pharmaceutical innovations and local and international experts, reflecting the return of hope for a better future for Syria after liberation.
