Geneva, SANA-The State of Qatar on Tuesday reiterated its welcome of the steps taken by Syrian authorities toward national reconciliation and the establishment of a state based on the rule of law and institutions.
This came during a statement delivered by Dr. Hend bint Abdulrahman al Muftah ,Qatar’s Permanent Representative in Geneva, as part of the interactive dialogue under Item 2 of the annual report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, during the 59th session of the Human Rights Council, according to the Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The statement commended the positive measures undertaken by Syria in pursuit of reconciliation and institutional reform, noting that these actions reflect a clear commitment to restoring security, stability, and safeguarding the human rights of the Syrian people.
Qatar’s statement also emphasized the importance of lifting economic sanctions on Syria, highlighting that doing so would support the Syrian people and empower them in their path toward stability and prosperity.
