Presidential decree forming the Supreme Committee for People’s Assembly elections

Damascus, SANA- President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Presidential Decree No. 66 of 2025, forming a committee called the “Supreme Committee for People’s Assembly Elections,” headed by Muhammad Taha al-Ahmad, and including Hassan Ibrahim al-Daghim, Imad Yaqoub Barq, Lara Shaher Aizouqi, Nawar Elias Najma, Muhammad Ali Muhammad Yassin, Muhammad Khader Wali, Muhammad Yasser Kahala, Hanan Ibrahim al-Balkhi, Badr al-Jamous, and Anas al-Abdeh.

The decree tasked the Higher Committee with overseeing the formation of electoral sub-committees, with these bodies electing two-thirds of the members of the People’s Assembly.
