Russian MoD: 723 civilians evacuated from Ukraine, new ceasefire on Wednesday

Moscow, SANA- The Russian defense ministry said 723 people have been evacuated along an evacuation route out of the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy on Tuesday.

“Thanks to the unprecedented security measures taken by the Russian Armed Forces, evacuating those civilians was done,” Russian National Defense Control Center Head Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, was quoted by TASS Agency as saying.

Mizintsev added the Russian side carried out all preparations for the evacuation of civilians and foreign citizens through safe corridors, but Kiev has approved only one of the ten humanitarian corridors suggested by Russia to the Ukrainian side.

“Official representatives of the Kiev authorities and city mayors received strict orders not to allow even a single attempt to evacuate to the Russian Federation, which means they simply do not convey the information about the possible evacuation to Russia and the humanitarian corridors being established to that extent daily to their citizens,” Mizintsev underscored.

Earlier, Russia had announced a new ceasefire in a number of Ukrainian cities, starting at 10 a.m. (Moscow time) on Wednesday
