Putin: Turkish aggression on Syrian territory threatens to revive Daesh

Ashgabat, SANA_ Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that the Turkish aggression on Syria could lead to the revival of Daesh terrorist group in the region.

During his meeting with presidents of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Ashgabat on Friday, Putin said that there are areas in northern Syria where the terrorists are positioned.

He clarified that, according to the Russian Security Services,  there are hundreds or thousands of terrorists in northern Syria.  “This is a real threat to all of us… We should mobilize the resources of our security services to stop this threat.” He said.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed its concern over the Turkish aggression on Syrian territory, calling for commitment to full respect for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria.
