Baath Party official and ministers meet Palestinian Fatah Movement delegation

Damascus, SANA – Assistant Regional Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Hilal al-Hilal met on Thursday with member of the central committee of the Palestinian Fatah Movement Abbas Zaki and Director of the Political Bureau at the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) in Damascus, Ambassador Anwar Abdul-Hadi.

Al-Hilal stressed that Syria’s position on the Palestinian cause will remain the same as before as this cause will continue to be the central issue for Syria and the main pivot of the Israeli-Arab struggle.

He added that the political leadership in Syria will continue supporting the Palestinian people and their national resistance till achieving victory over the Israeli enemy and will never bow to the foreign pressures and attempts to force Damascus to abandon Palestine.

Al-Hilal regretted that some Palestinian factions have pretended to forget the Syrian favor and got involved in the war waged against Syria.

He however hailed the new Intifada which has erupted in many Palestinian cities, saying it is the only way to regain the rights usurped by Israel.

For his part, Zaki said that Syria is paying the price for its national and pan-Arab stances and yet it has not changed the way it treats the Palestinian refugees as they have always been treated equally to the Syrian citizens.
