Amman, SANA-Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tuesday welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to remove sanctions imposed on Syria.
“Jordan welcomes the US President’s decision, which contributes to supporting the Syrian government’s efforts to rebuild, enhance recovery efforts, and open new horizons for economic cooperation between Syria and the world, thereby achieving stability, prosperity, and development for the Syrian people.” Jordanian media quoted the ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, as saying.
Ambassador Qudah reiterated Jordan’s firm stance in supporting Syria and its efforts in the reconstruction process based on factors that guarantee Syria’s unity, security, stability, and the safety of its territory and citizens, free from terrorism, and the preservation of the rights of all Syrians.
Trump signed an executive order last night ending the sanctions program imposed on Syria.
