Damascus, SANA- US President, Donald Trump, announced Tuesday at dawn ceasefire between Israel and Iran, after 12 days of missile attacks between the two sides followed by US intervention with airstrikes that targeted several Iranian nuclear facilities.
In a tweet posted on his “Social Truth” platform, President Trump called on both sides not to violate the ceasefire, saying: “The ceasefire has entered into force. Please do not violate it.”
Shortly before the ceasefire entered into force, Israeli military announced, according to its media, Iran had launched six waves of missiles toward several Israeli sites.
Israeli Media sources also reported that Iranian missiles targeted several Israeli cities including Beersheba, causing extensive damage to several buildings and killing seven Israelis.
IRNA News Agency said that Tehran had launched the final salvos of missiles toward the occupied territories before the ceasefire took effect.
In response to US announcement, Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, said on “X” platform “Up till this moment, there has been no formal agreement on a ceasefire or an end to military operations”, however, he added, “If Israel halts its illegal aggression against Iranian people by 4:00 a.m., his country has no intention of continuing its response.”
