Aleppo, SANA-For the first time in its history, the University of Aleppo has been included in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, which evaluate universities’ contributions to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university ranked 1,501st globally out of 2,318 universities worldwide.
University President Dr. Osama Raadoun noted in a statement to SANA that after fulfilling the requirements for inclusion in this prestigious ranking, the university achieved notable placements in several key SDG categories. Among them, it ranked 800th globally in “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,” placed among the top 1,001 universities for “Gender Equality,” and landed within the top 1,500 for “Partnerships for the Goals.”
Dr. Raadoun emphasized that the university’s post-liberation efforts to gain international recognition reflect a broader institutional strategy to strengthen collaboration between students, faculty, and administration—an approach that has significantly elevated the university’s profile on the global stage.
He also highlighted ongoing initiatives to preserve and advance these achievements by securing international partnerships. The university is working to finalize 80 academic, student exchange, and research agreements with esteemed institutions across 40 countries in the coming months.
