Syrian Men’s National Football Team to Face Afghanistan on Tuesday in AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers

Riyadh, SANA-The Syrian men’s national football team is set to play their Afghan counterparts on Tuesday in the second round of qualifiers for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The match will take place at Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia.

During today’s pre-match press conference, Syria’s head coach, Jose Lana, affirmed the team’s readiness for the game. He stated that their goal is to secure a victory and maintain their lead in Group E of the qualifiers.

Syrian player Ahmed Fakka also emphasized the importance of the match and the players’ determination to earn all three points.

The Syrian team will wear white, while the Afghanistan team will play in red.

Notably, Syria won their first qualifying match against Pakistan with a two-nil score in Group E.
