Damascus, SANA-Finance Minister Mohammad Yusr Barniyeh stressed that License No.25 announced by the US Treasury Department, and the US Secretary of State’s announcement of a six-month suspension of the Caesar Act, are highly significant steps toward easing sanctions on Syria.
“suspending Caesar Act will help pave the way for the return of American investments and the resumption of the correspondents banking services with Syrian banks”, Minister Barniyeh said in a statement on Saturday, stressing that this would support reconstruction, modernizing infrastructure, and developing the financial sector.
The Minister went on saying that: Lifting the sanctions is a new success for the effective Syrian diplomacy led by the President al-Sharaa and the Foreign Minister, voicing his gratitude to the US Treasury Department for their understanding and cooperation.
