Riyadh-SANA- Jassim Mohammed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has welcomed the European Union’s decision to lift economic sanctions on Syria.
As reported by the official website of the GCC General Secretariat, Albudaiwi expressed his hope that this decision would be a crucial step towards alleviating the exacerbating suffering of the brotherly Syrian people.
He also expressed hope that it would open new horizons for a phase of recovery and reconstruction, leading to the consolidation of security and stability and the achievement of a prosperous future for the Syrian Arab Republic and its generous people.
