Damascus, SANA -Damascus University and the Syrian Forum signed Monday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance joint efforts in sustainable development, humanitarian affairs, education, economic empowerment, and public policy.
The MoU, signed by Damascus University President Dr. Mohammad Osama al-Jabban and CEO of the Syrian Forum Dr. Ghassan Hitto, aims to develop joint projects and programs to support vulnerable groups, exchange expertise, organize training courses and workshops to improve students’ and graduates’ skills, support scientific research, promote economic empowerment, launch entrepreneurship initiatives, and hold events to connect students and graduates with the labor market. Additionally, it includes organizing seminars on pressing issues in Syrian society.
The agreement also includes cooperation in advocacy campaigns to promote human rights and sustainable development, as well as the exchange of information to support local and regional advocacy efforts. Under the MoU, Damascus University and the Syrian Forum commit to providing logistical and financial support, as well as academic expertise, to carry out joint activities.
This memorandum aligns with Damascus University’s efforts to strengthen collaboration between academic institutions and civil society organizations to foster knowledge production and scientific capacity-building.
The Syrian Forum is an independent, nonprofit organization licensed in Damascus as a Syrian association by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor under Registration No. 1294. It focuses on sustainable development through programs in education, economic empowerment, humanitarian affairs, public policy, and advocacy, aiming to enhance individuals’ and communities’ capacities and enable them to build a sustainable future.
