Amman, SANA-Engineer Fathi al-Jaghbir, Head of Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, stressed that lifting US sanctions on Syria will contribute to boosting the movement of goods and financial transfers, facilitating the flow of goods and services, and enhancing the investment environment between Syria and Jordan.
The Jordanian News Agency, Petra, quoted al-Jaghbir as calling for strengthening economic relations between Jordan and Syria, in light of the common interests that bind the two states.
He added that the Kingdom’s exports to Syria amounted to 13 million dinars during the first two months of this year, a 40 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
He pointed out that 25 Jordanian industrial companies will participate in the 22nd edition of the Buildex International Construction Exhibition, which will be held from May 27 to 31 at the Damascus International Fairgrounds.
He explained that the Jordanian industrial companies participating in the exhibition represent sectors related to reconstruction, particularly infrastructure, building materials, and energy, in addition to the engineering industries, in which Jordan enjoys significant competitive capabilities.
