Russian Defense: 57 civilians who left Azovstal decided to remain in Donetsk

Moscow, SANA- 57 civilians, who have been evacuated from buildings adjacent to the Azovstal plant over the last two days, decided to remain in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

“46 civilians left the residential buildings adjacent to Azovstal plant on Saturday and all of them decided to remain in Donetsk,” the statement said.

A group of 80 civilians left Azovstal, among them 11 civilians decided to remain in Donetsk while 69 others headed for Zaporozhye city, the statement added.

Units of the Russian Armed Forces opened the humanitarian corridor to ensure the safe passage of civilians from Azovstal to the territory controlled by Kyiv, the statement noted.
