Activities of International Islamic Unity Conference continue

Tehran, SANA – Activities of the 28th International Conference on Islamic Unity continued Thursday in the Iranian capital of Tehran with Syria’s participation.

The conference seeks to establish a proper ground for unity and solidarity in the Islamic world, in addition to reconciling viewpoints and studying current Muslims’ issues, particularly takfiri terrorist movements and the Palestinian cause.

On the sidelines of the conference, special committees have been formed in order to look into the latest issues in the Islamic world, and the dangers posed to its identity and unity, especially the Zionist threat, besides the criminal practices committed by extremist and takfiri organizations backed by some western and regional countries.

Representatives of 65 countries across the world are participating in the conference which kicked off Wednesday. Syria’s delegation is headed by Grand Mufti Ahmad Bader-Eddin Hassoun.
