Damascus, SANA – President Bashar al-Assad on Monday issued legislative decree no. 2 for 2015 on establishing Tartous University based in the city of Tartous.

The University will consist of the following faculties: medicine, education, economy, literature and human sciences, pharmaceuticals, technical engineering, communications and IT, tourism, and sciences, with the possibility of adding further faculties via decrees.

The University’s faculty and administrative staff will be transferred from Tishreen University.
