Lavrov: Need for eliminating terrorism hotbeds in Syria, return of displaced to home

Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated need for fully eliminating terrorism hotbeds in Syria, in parallel with pushing the political process to resolve the crisis and restore security and stability to all Syrian territories.

Lavrov’s remarks came during an interview with Russian newspaper “Trud” published on Friday.

Lavrov stressed on the need for return of the Syrians, who had been displaced due to terrorism, to their home.

He said that Syria is returning to normal peaceful life gradually , indicating that some terrorist hotbeds remain in Idleb and eastern Syria.

Lavrov pointed out the efforts exerted for the formation and launching of the committee for discussing the Constitution , which will contribute to pushing forward the political process led by the Syrians themselves.

Lavrov called on opposition to make a constructive contribution to comprehensive political process in Syria, based on UNSC resolution no.2254.
