170 farmers benefit from sustainable agriculture project in Syria

Damascus, SANA- Training workshop on Sustainable Agriculture concluded on Wednesday, been held by UNDP in cooperation with the Syrian Ministry of Agriculture.

Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Mohamed Hassan Qatna, underscored the importance of implementing sustainable agricultural projects and promoting awareness of such culture as well as presenting their outcomes and added value and applying them on a region or at least on a group of villages.

Minister Qatna notified that promoting and supporting farmers to use regenerative agriculture can achieve multiple benefits that help them improve the quality of their production and invest their farms in an optimal way.

The project aimed to introduce 170 Syrian farmers to implement sustainable agricultural system on limited spaces of lands,which contributed  to reducing costs and improving production.
