Tal Shnan village distinguished by its charming domes and mud houses

Homs, SANA –Tal Shnan village in Homs eastern countryside is famous for its  domes and mud houses which distinguish it from the surrounding villages and make it an attractive tourist site.

The village dates back to hundreds of years ago, and it is situated on a high hill.

The residents of the village are proud of the magnificent mud houses and they restore them regularly to protect them from weather factors.

One of the village’s residents Mona Dib says “The village was named after a plant called “al-Shnan”  which is planted on a wide area in the village as it is used for treating skin diseases and it was used for washing clothes in the past.”

The village is also famous for the trees of oil and almond which spread on a large area.

The oldest mud house was built in the village and it contains a very ancient mill.
