Moscow, SANA – Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Gen. Maj. Igor Konashenkov said that Russia has no plans for establishing a new airbase in Syria, contrary to what some Western media outlets claimed.

Konashenkov said on Monday that there are no new bases or extra airport to serve as a takeoff point for Russia warplanes in Syria, and there are no plans to establish such facilities.
