Education Ministry in cooperation with UNICEF rehabilitates 20 schols in Sweida

Sweida, SANA – Education Directorate in Sweida southern province has started works of rehabilitating and restoring of 20 schools in different parts of the province. The work is carried out in cooperation with UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Head of School Buildings at the Directorate Bahaa Kiwan told SANA on Sunday that the work comes within the agreement signed between Ministry of Education and UNICEF for securing the needs of 20 schools completely and making required rehabilitation to them during summer holiday with an estimated cost of SYP 20,466 million.
He pointed out that the schools to be rehabilitated include four in Sweida city, one in Salkhad town, two in al-Mashqouq and two others in al-Mojeimer and al-Mshannaf towns. The others spread in the towns and villages of Hazem, al-Heet, Shaqa, Tima, Rasas, Rami, al-Anat, Mardak and Salim.
Kiwan pointed out that there is a plan for rehabilitating 17 schools spread throughout the province with a cost nearing SYP 48,353 million.
UNICEF in Syria is working on rehabilitating 10 wells of potable water in the Province in cooperation with Ministry of Water Resources with a cost of SYP 321,560 million.
