22-truck aid shipment sent to Yarmouk Camp displaced residents in neighboring towns

Damascus Countryside, SANA – A new humanitarian aid shipment of 22 trucks entered the towns of Yalda, Bait Sahm and Babila in Damascus Countryside on Tuesday.

The aid is bound for people who were displaced from Yarmouk Camp neighborhood, which recently came under an attack by terrorists of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) that forced thousands of the residents to flee to neighboring areas.

The shipment delivery was carried out in cooperation between the Syrian government and the organizations of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

Twenty of the trucks were offered by the SARC containing relief aid, and two vehicles loaded with kitchen equipment were offered by the UNRWA.

Today’s convoy is the third one to be delivered in the above-mentioned towns this month. A similarly large shipment of 18 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid was delivered to the displaced residents of Yarmouk Camp on April 9, while the first one, which included 15 trucks, was delivered on April 3.

In the meantime, the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the UNRWA continue delivering and distributing humanitarian and relief supplies displaced people from Yarmouk Camp.
