Al-Shaibani discusses Joint Cooperation with Kallas in a Phone call

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad al-Shaibani, made a phone call Wednesday with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, voicing his gratitude to the European Union for its decision to fully lift economic sanctions, considering this a positive indicator of the desire to strengthen cooperation and support stability efforts.

The Foreign Ministry said on its Telegram channel that during the call, the two sides agreed to work jointly on the next steps, in a way that enhances coordination and reciprocal understanding in the political, humanitarian and economic files.

The talks also addressed the importance of activating early recovery and reconstruction plans in close cooperation between the government and the European Union to ensure an effective response to basic needs and support infrastructure.

The refugee file was discussed, and the organization and initiation of plans to discuss their dignified and voluntary return were discussed, in coordination between the European Union and neighboring countries, including Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon, and in partnership with the relevant international bodies.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination in a way that serves the interests of peoples and enhances opportunities for prosperity and development in the region.
