Tartous, SANA- Governor of Tartous, Mr. Ahmad al-Shami, met Tuesday with the Italian Ambassador to Syria, Stefano Ravagnan, to discuss Syrian-Italian relations and ways to strengthen economic cooperation in light of the positive developments in Syria and the governorate’s development strategy.
During the meeting, held at the governorate’s headquarters, the governor provided an overview of Tartous’ geographic, agricultural, and tourism assets, highlighting its strategic location on the Mediterranean coast and its vital al-Ariada border crossing with Lebanon.
He also pointed to ongoing government efforts to improve the investment climate and create job opportunities for the people of Tartous.
For his part, Ambassador Ravagnan expressed his country’s interest in cooperating with Syria and contributing to projects that positively impact development and economic conditions in Tartous. He also revealed a preliminary study prepared for the al-Ariada Bridge, given its strategic importance.
