Syrian Scientific Olympiad participates in Asian Olympiads in Kazakhstan

Damascus, SANA – The National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad started its international season for the year through participating in the Asian Math Olympiad, organized by Kazakhstan.

Head of the Commission Imad al-Azb told SANA that the event will witness the participation of internationally elite teams, adding that the participation comes in the framework of the International Math Olympiad, due to be held next July in Thailand.

Al-Azb said the Asian Scientific Commission sends the questions online to the Syrian Math sub-Committee, which immediately copy the questions and hand them over to the students, adding that the exams will be held through direct connection with the International Scientific Commission in Kazakhstan.

The tests include 5 equations and scientific subjects comprising algebra and geometry, the answers are checked by university professors in Syria and will be sent back to the International Scientific Commission.

Earlier on Saturday March 7th. the National Commission for the Syrian Science Olympiad announced the names of the Math team after conducting trials for picking the teams which will be representing Syria in international competitions in math, physics, chemistry, biology, and IT.
