Syria and China sign a joint cooperation statement on preserving cultural heritage

Beijing, SANA-Syrian ambassador in Beijing, Mohamed Hassanein Khaddam signed on Monday the joint statement document concerning cooperation within the Asian Initiative to Preserve Cultural Heritage between the Ministry of Culture and the National Administration of Cultural Heritage of China.

Khaddam signed the document on behalf of the Minister of Culture Lubana al-Mushwah.

The statement was signed by Li Chun, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism and Xiong Yuanming, director of the National Administration of Cultural Heritage of the Chinese side at the headquarters of The National Library in Beijing, which is currently hosting the Syrian Antiquities Exhibition.

The joint declaration constitutes a new framework for enhancing Syrian-Chinese cooperation in the field Conservation and protection of cultural heritage.
