China warns of consequences if Pelosi visits Taiwan

New York, SANA- China’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Zhang Jun, has warned of the consequences of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, stressing that it will undermine relations between China and the United States.

“A visit by Pelosi or any US official to Taiwan would be a dangerous and provocative act and would undermine security and stability as well as US-Chinese relations,” the Russian RIA Novosti news agency quoted Zhang as saying at a press conference.

Zhang affirmed that Washington should understand the consequences of such a move.

The Chinese diplomat added that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory, we do not allow anyone to cross this red line, and we firmly oppose any Taiwan’s separatist tendencies and interference in the affairs of the People’s Republic of China.
