Increase in olive production in Homs province estimated at 50 thousand tons than 2021

Homs, SANA- With about 14 million fruitful productive olive trees, Homs Agriculture Directorate estimated that the production of olive for the current season, 2022, will reach at 93,000 tons with an increase of more than 50,000 tons than last year.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Director of Agricultural Department Younis Hamdan said that the total area cultivated with olive trees reached 966 thousand dunums , of which about 122 thousand dunums are irrigated fields and the rest are rain fed.

Hamdan added that the total number of olive trees in the province reached more than 15 million trees, out of which about 14 million fruitful and productive trees .
