Putin and Guterres worried over tightening unilateral Western sanctions on Syria

Moscow-SANA- Russian President, Vladimir Putin, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed on Thursday worry over tightening unilateral Western sanctions on Syria, affirming the need to move forward in supporting the political process to solve the crisis in the country.

The Kremlin said in a statement that the talks via video, between Putin and Guterres, who visits Moscow, tackled the humanitarian situation in Syria with expressing concern about tightening unilateral punitive measures against it.

The statement added that the two sides agreed to activate coordination between Moscow and the UN institutions in many domains, including the return of refugees and displaced Syrians to their home and rebuilding infrastructure.
